CITEC wins IT services contract with Collex

22 August 2005

Waste management company Collex Pty Ltd has appointed CITEC as its supplier of IT infrastructure services.

Announcing the deal, CITEC’s Managing Director Tony Skippington said the three year contract would see CITEC manage a range of leading edge infrastructure offering multiple levels of resiliency, guaranteeing business continuity.

The infrastructure will host enterprise systems, including SAP, as well as a critical waste management application.

Mr Skippington said winning the contract against intense competition was an acknowledgement of CITEC’s extensive experience.

“We have successfully won this contract by providing value for money and sound IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) accredited service management,” he said.

Collex’s IT infrastructure will be managed in one of CITEC’s high security data centres in Brisbane. The implementation will involve an expansion of Collex’s CITRIX deployment to accommodate an ongoing strategy that has proved successful for the organisation.

In Australia, Collex falls under the umbrella of French energy, environmental and transport services giant Veolia Environnement, along with Connex Melbourne and Veolia Water.

Collex’s Chief Information Officer Sanjay Kalra said: “We found CITEC to have the comprehensive approach to ICT service provision that Collex requires.

“In addition to the clear expertise in SAP and utility server management, CITEC’s broad range of services provides the right critical mass in an IT services company for a company the size of Collex as it continues to expand.

“CITEC also has mature processes and a well established ITIL strategy,” Mr Kalra said.

Mr Skippington said the Collex contract demonstrated CITEC’s capability as a service provider: “CITEC is now one of the largest providers of SAP management in Australia, with clients throughout the public and private sectors.

“We think our service delivery model gives us the edge. CITEC’s SAP and infrastructure management clients benefit from seamless, fully integrated solutions delivered with maximum focus on their core businesses,” Mr Skippington said.
