Dusman joins CITEC as CIO
01 December 2004
Understanding and supporting our customers' business needs, and identifying the technology required to achieve this, are top priorities for CITEC's new Chief Information Officer (CIO), Paul Dusman.
Recognised for his fresh and innovative solutions which uniquely leverage new and emerging technologies, Paul's appointment follows an extensive search carried out by CITEC's executive management team.
Bringing more than 20 years' experience in diverse fields including the ICT, health, finance, government and resources sectors, our new CIO said he was aware of CITEC's potential and the challenges facing the organisation before he came on board.
"It was the combination of these factors that made the role appealing," he explained.
"The fact is, I enjoy working with those who excel in what they do and enabling them to reach their full potential. CITEC has people like this in droves."
Paul's strategic "outside-the-box" thinking has served him well whilst working for organisations such as Accenture, Unisys and PriceWaterhouseCoopers.
"I've been fortunate to have the opportunity to manage multi-million dollar projects which increased productivity, reduced costs and on a number of occasions, won national awards for innovation and business value," said Paul.
CITEC's Managing Director Mark Rainbird said he was confident our new CIO's exceptionally strong skills in strategy and architecture and all areas of technology and client services delivery, will translate to services that consistently exceed CITEC's customers' expectations.
Paul believes he has begun working at CITEC at a positive point in time for the information and communications technology (ICT) industry.
"I expect the market will continue to firm in terms of opportunities, demand and competitiveness.
"There is plenty of potential for CITEC if we practice continuous improvement in everything we do, when we reach perfection we should do a whole lot more!"
This enthusiasm bodes well for everyone involved with CITEC.
"I have a responsibility to CITEC to establish a framework for success," said Paul.
"I believe everyone in our team has value to offer and I'll work to help identify what that value is and leverage it for their and the organisation's benefit."
Paul has a clear vision for CITEC's information and communication technology reputation.
"I want us to be recognised by our business and technical peers as the group who really knows what they're doing. We should be perceived that way because of our technical capability.
"We must understand how to marry technology with our clients' needs."
