CITEC's Executive Management Team (EMT) drives business direction to ensure strategic and operational objectives are met. The members of the EMT are the General Manager, the Queensland Government Chief Technology Officer and the four Executive Directors.

With the formation of the Department of Public Works' new Information Services division in May 2009, the titles of most of CITEC's EMT team were changed to align with the department's other commercialised business units. The title of Managing Director was changed to General Manager and the title of General Manager was changed to Executive Director.

Tony Skippington

Tony Skippington
General Manager

Tony in his role as General Manager is responsible for providing dynamic leadership to CITEC in the continuously challenging world of information and communications technology.

CITEC is the primary ICT service provider to Queensland Government specialising in the areas of Data Centre Services, Network Management and Infrastructure Services, Information Brokerage and Solutions Integration.

As General Manager, Tony’s focus is leading CITEC to provide outstanding service and innovative business solutions to clients, in alignment with the Queensland Government's strategic direction for ICT governance and service delivery.

Tony holds a Bachelor of Business (Accounting) and has extensive experience over a 25 year career in the Queensland Public Sector having previously held senior roles within CITEC and the Queensland Audit Office. These roles were predominantly related to financial management and corporate governance, and built upon Tony’s professional expertise.

In 2005, Tony was appointed as Managing Director of CITEC and has overseen an enormous transformation program within CITEC as the organisation refocuses on meeting the changing ICT needs of the public sector.

The title of Managing Director was changed to General Manager in May 2009.

Bob Gurnett

Bob Gurnett
Queensland Government Chief Technology Officer

With a degree in business, Bob joined the information technology industry in 1974 as a system programmer/analyst, with the Queensland Treasury EDP Branch (where the forerunner to CITEC originated). He has more than 30 years' experience, with expertise in a wide range of ICT and data networking.

During his time with CITEC, Bob has performed various management positions, including Manager of the Mainframes Technical Support Group, Manager of Infrastructure and Facilities and as Director, Network Services.

As General Manager Business and Technology Strategies Bob was responsible for the development and implementation of CITEC's business and technology strategies including development of product plans and client proposals, governance of CITEC's ICT projects, design of key technology deliverables to clients, and the ICT infrastructure assets.

In his role as Chief Technology Officer, Bob's main task is to ensure the technology supporting ICT services to all Queensland Government agencies is innovative and meets government business objectives.

Darryl Patterson

Darryl Patterson
Executive Director, Client and Operational Services

Darryl has more than 30 years' experience in the ICT industry. Since joining CITEC in 1993, he has held a number of senior management roles including Director of the Facilities Management and Bureau business, Manager Operations, and most recently, Director of Queensland Government sales.

Prior to joining CITEC, Darryl undertook technical, service and management roles in a number of large State Government department ICT units including Main Roads, Transport and SGIO (now Suncorp).

As General Manager of the Queensland Government Division, Darryl was able to leverage his extensive end-to-end ICT experience, and his intimate knowledge of CITEC and government to create high value outcomes for Queensland Government agencies.

In his current role Darryl is responsible for all CITEC's operational and ICT service delivery.

Peter Buchan

Peter Buchan
Executive Director, Information Brokerage

Peter has extensive experience in ICT service management, project management and accounting. Since joining CITEC in 1994 he has had numerous roles across CITEC and has overseen a number of major projects for CITEC and its clients.

Prior to holding his current position, Peter was General Manager Business Services with responsibility for CITEC's Human Resources, Program Office, Software Development, Support and Enhancements as well as Service Strategies and Quality. Peter has also been a Service Delivery Manager and CITEC's Financial Controller.

Peter holds a Bachelor of Business Administration and Accounting, a Manager's Certificate in IT Service Management and is a registered Project Manager. He is a Member of the Australian Institute of Project Management.

Rita McLucas

Rita McLucas
Executive Director, Corporate Services

As Executive Director Corporate Services, Rita is responsible for the strategic financial management of CITEC as well as corporate governance, legal and executive services, human resources, CITEC IT support and the general administration of the organisation’s internal operations.

Rita joined CITEC in late 2000 following extensive experience in chartered accountancy firms where she held senior management and consultancy positions specialising in Business Services, Compliance Management, Business Law and Taxation.  More recently at CITEC, Rita has held the position of Manager Financial Services and Operations.

Rita is a Chartered Accountant and holds a Bachelor of Business extended Accountancy major, Business Law and Taxation secondary major.  She is also Company Secretary of CSI Holdings Pty Ltd.

Sandra Smith

Sandra Smith
Executive Director, Strategy and Development

As Executive Director, Strategy and Development, Sandra is responsible for providing leadership and strategic direction to the operations of CITEC in corporate governance, performance management, strategic planning and initiatives, and communication.

Sandra joined CITEC in 2001 and has held a number of roles including Director Marketing, Director Commercialisation and Group Manager - eBusiness, where she has contributed to strategic market development and the development and profitability of service products for CITEC.

Prior to joining CITEC in 2001, Sandra held senior sales and marketing positions with BHP Information Technology, which was later acquired by CSC. In her various roles within the company Sandra undertook business development, strategic and operational marketing, strategic planning and product development. She has international business experience and established an office for BHP Information Technology in the United States of America.

Sandra holds a degree in Commerce with majors in Marketing and Information Systems and is an Associate Member of the Australian Marketing Institute (AMAMI).
