Queensland Government Chief Technology Office
The Queensland Government Chief Technology Office (QGCTO) is established within CITEC. The QGCTO provides leadership, collaboration, management and direction on whole-of-Government ICT issues to Government and agencies. This ensures that the technology supporting ICT services is of high quality, aligns with government strategic business objectives, is cost effective, and supports the needs of the community at large.
This is achieved by:
- providing whole-of-Government technical and advisory services
- directing the infrastructure and application management components of the Government Enterprise Architecture (GEA)
- leading whole-of-Government ICT technology consolidation exercises for infrastructure, data centre and networks
- managing whole-of-Government ICT procurement exercises to support infrastructure consolidation
- managing whole-of-Government supplier relationships for key technology product and service providers
- managing whole-of-Government telecommunications demand
- project management and solutions integration.
Working closely with the Queensland Government Chief Information Office (QGCIO), the QGCTO will ensure that the Government’s investment in technology and applications is optimised to meet information management and integrated service delivery outcomes.
Collectively, the QGCTO and the QGCIO will set GEA strategic targets, standards and policies to transform Government ICT decision making. This collaboration will lead to the development of compatible, standardised ICT systems to drive efficiencies and enhance connectivity.
The QGCTO incorporates the following units: Technology Architecture and Solutions, Strategic Supply and Assets, and Solutions Integration.
