2006 Queensland Government Chief Technology Office established within CITEC.

2006 Queensland Government endorses Service Delivery and Performance Commission ICT review to reorient CITEC to become the Government's technology service provider.

2005 CITEC celebrates 40 years since formal establishment.

2003 CITEC is awarded interim infrastructure provider status for the Queensland government Shared Services Initiative.

2001 CITEC is formally established as a fully commercialised business unit.

2000 CITEC is the second largest Australian owned ICT service provider with annual revenue of over AU$120 million.

1997 CITEC establishes a branch in Canberra securing business in the Federal and Australian Capital Territory (ACT) government market.

1996 CITEC establishes a branch in Sydney and is awarded the government owned Enterprise of the Year Award by Business Queensland.

1993 CITEC establishes a branch in Melbourne.

1992 CITEC adopts a commercial focus in its operations.

1989 CITEC launches its Public Access System, CITEC Confirm.

1987 SGCC changes its name to CITEC.

1980 SGCC expands its service offerings to include network and data telecommunications areas.

1976 EDP moves to 317 Edward Street and becomes the State Government Computer Centre (SGCC).

1974 Planning for a State Computer Centre to replace Treasury computers and to provide a bureau service for various Government users begins.

1964 The CITEC journey begins with the establishment of a small branch of Queensland Treasury known as Electronic Data Processing (EDP) Branch.
